Everything people ask about Manga Craft, in plain words.
The game
Manga Craft is a voxel sandbox game drawn like a hand-inked manga page: black ink outlines, screentone shading and flat colour. You explore, mine, craft, build and survive in block worlds stitched from 19 manga genres, alone or with friends. It is made by Oddly Effective LLC.
Manga Craft is made for phones: iPhone (App Store) and Android (Google Play). The controls are built for touch — a finger on the left half of the screen moves you, dragging on the right half looks around, and a few large buttons mine, place, jump and dash.
Yes. The game is free to download and to play. There are optional purchases — a subscription called the Pass, time-limited suit loans and boosts, block crates, the Light Tracing graphics upgrade and Real World packs — but nothing in the game needs them, and nothing sold changes luck or what the world gives you.
No. There is no sign-up, no email and no password. Your worlds are saved on your phone. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID or Google account by the store, so they can be restored.
On purpose. Nobody in Manga Craft has a face — not you, not the creatures, not the villagers, not the Sealed Suits — from any angle. It is part of the look, and it leaves the story to you.
The look (a hand-inked manga page, not pixel art), the world (19 manga genres from Slice of Life to Kaiju, 76 places in all), the Sealed Suits you find and wear, the Real World packs, and the faceless design. It is an original game by Oddly Effective LLC.
Worlds and play
Every world has a Story Code: a twelve-digit number that names the world, not a person. Anyone who types the same Story Code gets the same world, generated the same way. It is how you share a world you like — the other person gets their own copy on their own phone.
Slice of Life, Romance, Battle, Adventure, Samurai, Horror, Sea, Snow Country, Yokai and Western are common; Gag, Ninja, Pirate, Post-Apocalypse and Steampunk are rare; Mecha, Isekai, Kaiju and Magical Girl are very rare. Each has four places of its own — 76 in all — and a world is stitched from them by climate.
Three places make things. Your hands (a 2×2 grid in the bag) make planks, sticks, a crafting table and an ink fire. The crafting table (3×3) makes tools, building pieces, furniture, lights and food. The kiln bakes sand into glass, cobblestone into stone, mud into brick and gold ore into gold, and grills meat — each with one piece of fuel. You never have to reproduce a pattern: pick the recipe and craft.
Nineteen giant statues stand somewhere in every world, each in a place of its own. Find one, mine it out in one piece, carry it home and place it again — then wear it for its perk, such as jumping higher or mining faster. Its reach is how far its aura extends around the statue.
Yes. You have hearts, a hunger bar and breath under water; falls hurt; day turns to night and storms roll in. Animals give meat, wool, leather, feathers and eggs; enemies come out in the dark; and there are bosses. Cook meat in the kiln and keep your hunger up.
Zenii is the in-game currency, and it can never be bought. You earn it by playing: defeating creatures, the daily gift, achievements, sharing, friends joining, and optional sponsor pages. You spend it in the Block Shop on blocks you have already mined.
Friends and multiplayer
Open your world, then Pause › Play Together to open it to friends. The game shows a short Gate Key. Your friend opens Manga Craft, goes to Friends › Join and types the key, and arrives in your world over the internet. There is no chat — just building together.
When a friend joins the game with your code, you both get Zenii, and you get more Zenii when they make their first purchase. The new player also gets a welcome gift — the Inked boost free for 7 days — and friend prices on loans and boosts. Rewards are in-game currency only, never money.
Purchases
The Pass is an optional subscription, monthly or yearly. It removes sponsor pages, doubles the reach of every Sealed Suit and gives one crate of blocks a month. It renews automatically until you cancel it in your Apple ID or Google Play settings, at least 24 hours before the end of the period.
A suit loan lets you wear one Sealed Suit — or all nineteen — for 7, 30 or 90 days, without finding the statue. A boost (Rough Draft, Inked, Centre Spread, Full Colour or Special Issue) makes you a little stronger for 7 to 90 days: faster, with more reach, more hearts or less fall damage depending on the grade. Both run on the calendar from the moment you buy and end by themselves; nothing renews.
Light Tracing is an optional one-time graphics upgrade: the sun, lamps and bounced light are traced through leaves, glass and water for real reflections and soft light. It includes a free trial, and the game checks your device first so you only buy it if your phone can run it.
Real World packs are in-game packs — a seed and blocks for your world. Separately, for every pack sold, the studio pays its supplier 1ClickImpact from its own money to plant trees, remove ocean plastic or capture carbon, seven days after the sale is final. Each pack gets a Receipt Code, and the public record is at mangacraft.world/impact.
In the game, open the Store and press Restore. Refunds are handled by the store you paid: Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, Google in Play Store › Order history. If a refund is granted, the item is removed.
Privacy and safety
As little as possible. No name, email, contacts, location or advertising identifier. Adverts, when you choose to watch one, are non-personalised for everybody. The full list — every service and every piece of data — is in the Privacy Policy at mangacraft.world/privacy.
In the game, open Settings › Delete local data. It removes every world and setting on your phone and asks our server to forget you. Then uninstall the app. For anything else, write to start@oddlyeffective.com. Details at mangacraft.world/delete-data.
There is no chat and no way to type anything that reaches another person except a player name shown to friends you invite. A player who answers the age question as under 13 gets child-directed adverts only, and the share-counting service is never started for them. Purchases need the bill-payer’s permission, and both stores offer parental controls.
