What it is

A block world, drawn in ink.

Manga Craft is a voxel sandbox that looks like a hand-inked manga page: black outlines, screentone shading, flat colour. You gather, craft, build and survive in block worlds stitched from 19 manga lands — then make them yours. Nobody in it has a face. On purpose.

The starting town in Manga Craft from above: timber houses with red roofs, a black pagoda, canals, a walled green mound and fields, all in ink and screentone.
The town every world starts in — straight out of the game.

The world

Nineteen lands. One page each.

Every world is stitched from 19 manga arcs by climate — Slice of Life meadows, Romance sakura hills, Horror ink marshes, Kaiju craters. Each arc is its own land, with its own weather and its own trees. A Story Code — twelve digits — names a world; anyone who types it gets the same one.

Eighteen of the cards started as frames of the game, shot standing in that land, then redrawn at card size — the same ground, trees and skyline; the Mecha card is drawn. Every colour is the one the generator paints it with. A Story Code names a world; anyone who types it gets the same one, with the same arcs in the same places.

The basics

Staying alive
Ten hearts, and they come back slowly. Eat to keep hunger up. Breath runs down under water. Night brings things out of the dark — keep a light on.
Made for thumbs
Move — A finger anywhere on the left half of the screen.Look — Drag on the right half.Mine · Place · Eat — One big button. It does what fits what you hold and what you aim at.Jump · Dash — Two buttons where a thumb rests.
Tools that wear
Three tiers: wood, stone, gold. Each is faster than the last and opens what the last could not. Pickaxes on stone, axes on wood, shovels on earth.

Sealed Suits

Nineteen giant statues, sealed in stone.

One stands somewhere in every world. Mine it out whole, carry it home, place it again, and wear it. Nobody has a face — not you, not the suits.

Nineteen of them. Scroll the strip — tap one to see it whole.

Blocks and building

Build a home that looks drawn.

Every block is inked: a black outline, a screentone shadow, one flat colour. Put them together and the page draws itself — a timber house with a step-frame roof, a shoji wall the light comes through and a paper lantern in the window.

  • Half-panels, step-frames and wall-panels in ten materials — slabs, stairs and thin walls, in the game’s own words.
  • Shoji panes, paper walls, tatami, glass and windows for the inside.
  • Lamps and paper lanterns that really light the blocks around them.
  • Ladders, ropes, rails, doors, chests, tables and bookshelves — all crafted at the table below.

Still being drawn

A very small studio makes this, and it is the first version. More blocks and more to find are on the way, rough edges are being fixed, and nothing you have already built is ever taken away by an update.

A small timber house built from blocks: dark timber frame, a stepped tiled roof, a shoji paper wall glowing from a lamp inside, a paper lantern by the open door.
A town street at dawn: brick and timber houses, black roof tiles, a stone wall with ivy, every block inked.
A canal through the town: stone paving, a pink arched bridge and lamp posts along the water.
A forest at dawn: broad oak trees over rolling grass, the sun low in the sky.

Crafting

Put things in. Get better things out.

Three places make things — your hands, the crafting table and the kiln. Pick what you want and press Craft; you never have to remember a pattern.

Manga Craft's Crafting Table page: tabs for Tools, Building, Furniture, Light, Food and Basics; a list of tools; and the Wooden Pickaxe recipe — three planks over two sticks — with a CRAFT button.

The light

Sunlight, traced through the page.

Light Tracing is an optional one-time graphics pack. The sun, the moon and every lamp are traced through leaves, glass and water — real shadows, real reflections, a lamp that lights the ground around it while the dark stays dark. Written for phones; no special hardware. Free trial first, and the game checks your device before you can buy it.

Drag any picture. Left is off, right is on — same frame, same second.

Playing together

Open a gate. A friend walks in.

Joining a friend takes one short key and no account. A Gate Key opens your world to a friend live over the internet; a Story Code names a world so someone else can have the same one. Neither names a player.

  1. 1

    Open your world

Pause › Play Together opens the world you are standing in to friends over the internet.

  2. 2

    Send the Gate Key

The game shows a short key. Send it however you like — a message, a call, a shout across the room.

  3. 3

    Build side by side

Your friend goes to Friends › Join and types it. No accounts, no chat: just two builders in one world.

A bridge being built across a gorge from both sides and not yet joined: neat pale planks with a handrail on the left, rough dark logs and stone on the right, a clear gap in the middle.

There is no chat — just building. The world stays the host’s: when the host leaves, friends head back to their own worlds.

2,000 Zenii each

When a friend starts with your Story Code, you both get 2,000 Zenii.

7 days of Inked

The friend who joins gets the Inked boost free for their first week.

Light Tracing $1.99

A player who joined with a friend’s code gets Light Tracing for $1.99 instead of $4.99.

The Real World packs

A seed in your world. Real work outside it.

Four packs put blocks, and three of them a seed, in your world. Separately, for every pack sold, the studio pays from its own money to plant trees, take plastic out of the ocean, capture CO2 or plant coral — seven days after the sale is final. Each piece of work gets a Receipt Code and a certificate, and the whole record is public.

A grove of tall dark ink trees grown from an Ink Seed, moss and fallen leaves below, light coming through the canopy.

Inkwood

An Ink Seed and Inkwood blocks for your world; real trees planted.

Clear water over stone in Manga Craft with Light Tracing on: the sky and the bank reflected in the surface.

Reefstone
